Co-ordinator's Report: Wigan.

Monday, 10th September 2007

BRDC Stars of Tomorrow co-ordinator Debbie Sellers takes a glance back over the season-closing eighth and ninth rounds of the 2007 campaign at Three Sisters near Wigan.

The last two rounds were as ever fast and furious. Even the wet weather didn’t dampen the enthusiasm our competitors have shown all year.

Congratulations to MSA Cadet Champion Brett Wykes and Mini Max winner Ashley Sutton, who had both won by Saturday evening and didn’t have to race on Sunday at all. Kenny Andrews has also had a terrific season and Frank Wrathall, even though he missed two rounds, fought his way to win Super ICC. The toughest battle going right through to the end was between JICA drivers Sam Jenkins and Max Goff, who took it to the final race on Sunday.

Thank you to all competitors, mechanics, team managers and parents for another great season's racing. We welcome you all back in 2008 and, if not, we hope you are successful in the path you choose.

Big Bike Ride:

Don’t forget that Carolynn - who will be doing all the journey by bicycle - and other members of the Stars team will be raising sponsorship money in a bid to buy and equip a new race control centre. We will have to retire our old trailer after the Autosport show and need to raise a hefty amount to enable the championship to carry on being self-sufficient. Carolynn will start the Journey at Llandow on 3 October, travelling to all the circuits visited by the championship this year. We hope you can join her at your local circuit and get the press involved too.

Keep an eye on the website for further information, 2008 dates and circuits and the new registration form, and we hope to see you at the Autosport show in January.

Debbie
