Clerk of the Course's Report: Wigan.

Monday, 10th September 2007

BRDC Stars of Tomorrow's Clerk of the Course Nigel Edwards gives his view on the recent action at Three Sisters.

BRDC Stars of Tomorrow clerk of the course Nigel Edwards offers his report from rounds eight and nine of the 2007 season at Three Sisters near Wigan on the 1st and 2nd of September.

It was great to see such an excellent entry for our final event of the year. It’s hard to believe how quickly the races have gone and we have reached the end of the 2007 season!

The final two rounds at our double-header meeting gave us some excellent racing, Saturday providing ideal driving conditions while Sunday ensured that driving skills were at a premium.

Driving standards overall were very good and provided a fitting end to what has been an excellent year. I hope you all enjoyed the events and venues. There will be lots of new things for 2008, so keep an eye on the website and in the karting/motoring press.

Summary of the weekend’s action

Cadet
Some brilliant racing, good sportsmanship and a worthy winner in Brett Wykes.

Mini Max
One or two issues but overall a good meeting. Well done Ashley Sutton.

JICA
A couple of unnecessary incidents which took the edge off Saturday, but Sunday under difficult conditions was excellent. Great achievement, straight out of cadets (as champion) – Sam Jenkins.

Junior Max
Tough racing all weekend but generally to a good standard. Congratulations to Kenny Andrews.

Super ICC
Some very exciting and fast racing – thanks to all drivers for supporting us this year and hope you can encourage some of your pals to join us in 2008. Well done to our Will Hoy Ginetta driver – Frank Wrathall .

General
Thanks to all drivers, teams and families for some great times over the year - there have been a couple of upsets but I hope this hasn’t spoilt your time with us. I look forward to working with you next season, but if you are moving on I wish you every success and safe racing.
