The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 has concluded the ninth round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series, and the final equations for calculating the net championship table have been completed.

However it wasn?t all bad news for Holden at Mount Panorama. Despite Craig Lowndes continuing to lead the Drivers? Championship, Rick Kelly maintains second place only 101 points adrift of the newly crowned Bathurst winner. The Toll HSV Dealer Team continues to lead the Teams? Championship too, albeit now by a slender margin of just over one-hundred points. Unfortunately for Holden, Ford is only a win away from securing the Manufacturers? title.

Paul Morris was the biggest gainer from Bathurst with an increase in six spots his reward for a top ten finish in the 1000 kilometre race, whilst the likes of Steve Owen and Jason Bargwanna also benefited from strong finishes in the 161 lapper. Jason Richards was the biggest loser with his retirement costing him seven places in the championship, whilst Supercheap Auto Racing drivers Cameron McConville and Greg Murphy also suffered for their retirements.

Four rounds of the championship remain ? at Surfers Paradise, Symmons Plains, Bahrain and Phillip Island.
