Its been a humbling experience to pass Peter Brock, particularly while in our new car designated VE 05 very spooky stuff! Today was fantastic and it was great to do a solid job, after the disappointment of Winton. But I guess you are only as good as your last race. Late in the day I was happy to run third behind Todd and Craig it was a safe option and I guess I had the best view in the house.

I was surprised at the end result for us as I did not think a 1-2 result was on the cards after fourth and fifth placings in earlier races. Winning race three was all about getting a strong out lap together. After the pit-stop I positioned myself in front of the others, I worked the tyres hard and the result came. From now on we keep chipping away at Championship points at tracks we traditionally perform well at. Our second half of the year will need to be good.

We got off to the good start in that last race to get the lead, and we just made a slight blue in the pit strategy, I guess. Skaife pitted behind us and had a slightly better stop and we didnt get out of the box in time. Obviously I had to stop again, which put us back. It was a little bit disappointing, going from leading the race to finishing fifth and off the podium, which is not great. But we cant complain over a pretty good weekend, really.

I got two great starts today which really helped me make up positions. We made some minor adjustments between Races 2 and 3 and they certainly paid off, our car had great cold tyre speed in the tricky Race 3 conditions. I had a great battle in the final race but Todd made no mistakes and I wasnt able to force the issue. Personally I am delighted with the car speed, the team has been working hard to makeup the deficit to the Holdens and we believe we have been able to achieve that.

This weekend consistency was the key. I am very comfortable that we are on track in terms of progress which is obvious by our results over the past three rounds. I am very happy to just be out there doing the job that I am expected to do. With the tracks that are coming up on the calendar I am looking forward to proving that our progress is ongoing.

"I've equalled my best round result of the year but the most pleasing fact was that we were more consistent this weekend. We gained a lot more points this weekend than we have at any other round and we improved the car throughout the weekend, but not quite enough to be competitive with the front runners. We've definitely got something to build on for the coming rounds. The team has done a good job this weekend, especially considering the wet practice session on Friday then the dry qualifying which meant that we were chasing the perfect car setup for the majority of the weekend."

The car didn't grip-up off the line in the final race which cost me several positions early which really hurts you, but our car speed was strong throughout the race. We changed the set-up for today's two races and got very close to the times of the leaders. We were probably two days late to find the right set-up but at least we've got a good base from this round. It was a good overall result to move up the order during the races. We finished the weekend on a positive note by doing the one of our fastest lap times in the last race, meaning that we continually moved forward throughout the weekend.

The car was pretty good in that last one. We have been struggling all weekend to get a good balance, and finally got it in that last race which helped us to salvage some points. The clutch failed in the Race 2 start. We will have to look at it it has happened a couple of times. We look forward to the next couple of rounds. We have been strong at Hidden Valley and Queensland, so we will be trying to get some points back.
