Reigning V8 Supercar champion Marcos Ambrose won Sunday's second race at Oran Park in Australia's V8 Supercar championship ahead of Mark Skaife and Jason Bright.
Ambrose, starting alongside Mark Skaife on the front row, capitalized on a botched start by Skaife, seizing first place.
Although HRT's Skaife may have made a mistake, his team-mate Todd Kelly had a cracking start, climbing from fifth to third position.
Ambrose, after gaining the lead, did not relinquish it for the duration of the fifty-four lap race.
The Oran Park races, without pit stops or safety cars, allowed drivers to win from the start virtually unchallenged, as both Ambrose and Skaife each earned a lead several seconds ahead of the nearest competitor.
Ambrose's win saw edge closer to the championship crown, as Jason Bright is now the only man ahead of him in the points race.
With only a handful of points now separating the top three Championship contenders, the pressure is on for the upcoming endurance races at Sandown and Bathurst.
