Skaife wins in Melbourne.

Immediately after the second Formula One qualifying session at Albert Park, the Australian V8 Supercar series competed in their third and final race for the weekend.

Skaife clearly had a speed advantage over the rest of the field, and it appears that the Holden Racing Team may have returned to form after a lean season.

The red Holdens had dominated the timesheets for most sessions, amongst the front-runners and setting the pace throughout the weekend.

However, the team had been undergoing testing prior to the AGP event, and it is reasonable to infer that rival teams will have found more pace in time for the opening round of the season at Adelaide's Clipsal 500, where Crash.net will be bringing you the latest news from the Australian V8 Supercars.
