Final race sums up a tough year for Team BOC.

Brad Jones Racing's Team BOC V8 Supercar team has completed a difficult 2007 V8 Supercar Championship, and appears likely to jump ship to Holden for next year's series.

Both BOC Falcons failed to finish the second race of the weekend, after Andrew Jones crashed out at turn six, and Simon Wills retired with power steering problems.

Wills again retired in the final race, after just a handful of laps saw oil pressure issues force him out.

“The two races today were fairly out there in the sense of what could have been,” said Wills.

“The first race I had to fight power steering issues again, unfortunately we didn't get on top of them and it had actually developed into a more severe problem.

“Trying to drive around here is hairy enough without having steering dramas.

In the final race we had a problem from the word go. There was some sort of noise coming from the car and then we had oil pressure warning alarms come on after the first lap, so unfortunately that put paid to that race as well.

“Not really the way I wanted to end the year.”

Andrew Jones was twentieth in the final race after starting from the rear of the grid.

“We started from the back with reasonably good tyres and I thought we would have reasonably good speed, certainly more than we had, so that was a little disappointing,” he said.

“But, from the back we finished 20th, which sums up our year a little I suppose.

“We will have a good Christmas break and hopefully come back and have more competitive year in 2008.”

Team BOC is likely to cross the great manufacturer divide of V8 Supercars and join Holden in 2008, entering a technical partnership with Walkinshaw Performance.

Jones is likely to stay, whilst Simon Wills plans are, as yet, unconfirmed.
