Kelly, Dumbrell chase solid Sydney showing.

HSV Dealer Team pairing Rick Kelly and Paul Dumbrell will be chasing solid results as the V8 Supercar Championship heads to Eastern Creek for the second round of the season this weekend.

Kelly came away from the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide sitting third in the V8 Supercar Championship and will be looking to repeat that kind of form this weekend at the Sydney circuit where he secured a round win back in 2004.

"We were quite lucky to get away from Adelaide third in the points," he admitted. "Eastern Creek for us last year was quite good, we finished third in the points and built towards a solid start to the year in 2007, so we are hoping to do that again this year.

"Traditionally Eastern Creek is a place that is quite hard on tyres, we are quite keen to get there and use the two practice sessions to minimise the impact on our cars this year."

After a disappointing start to the season Dumbrell is also looking forward to getting back out on the track and securing some championship points after a season opener that ended with a trip into the wall at Adelaide's turn eight.

"We are taking some positives out of round one in that we had good speed and we ran near the front for the majority of the weekend, now we just have to make sure we get to the finish line at Eastern Creek," he said. "After Adelaide I had to get the body right, I was a little bit sore after a fairly big impact at turn eight.

"[The Dealer Team] is a class outfit and even though we didn't have the weekend we all desired to have in Adelaide, everyone has their head up high and the boys worked extremely well and it is incredible the amount of work they have done over the past ten days, the car is looking good and I think everyone is pretty confident for Eastern Creek."
