HRT's champion leads the way as Holden takes grip on Manufacturers' Challenge.

Joining Price and Dumbrell on the sidelines, TeamVodafone's Craig Lowndes and Tasman Motorsport's Greg Murphy both succumbed to flat tyres, although the Kiwi later crashed on the penultimate lap. Michael Patrizi was the other retirement.

"It was a disappointing result," Lowndes admitted, "We made some adjustments for this race that really didn't prove to be that successful. I lost some spots off the start and, unfortunately, put myself in a precarious position. At least, tomorrow, I will have fresh tyres - and 30 cars to pass!"
