Tony D'Alberto will make his first trip to Perth's Barbagallo Raceway this weekend for round four of the V8 Supercar Championship Series.

Coming off his best performance of the year at the Hamilton street circuit last time out, D'Alberto is looking forward to his next challenge at one of Australia's longest running Series circuits.

“I have watched the racing at Barbagallo on TV all my life but I have never actually raced there before,” the Rod Nash Racing man said. “There have been a lot of great races over the years and it is special to be able to race on one of the traditional famous circuits.”

The Rod Nash Racing team has repaired the damage sustained in the final race at Hamilton and sent the car and transporter for the 3500km journey to Perth and D'Alberto praised the team for the work carried out to get him ready for the latest rounds of the year.

“It was a big job for all the guys to get the car back from New Zealand and turned around for the week-long journey across the country,” he said. “We are building some good momentum as the year progresses.

“Each round presents some new challenges and Barbagallo will be no different. Although the circuit is quite short it presents some real challenges especially with a lot of sand being blown onto the track throughout the meeting.

“It is not just me who is gaining experience each round but all the guys are getting better at their specific jobs, which is important in the push forward. As with every other round I will be giving it my best shot and trying to move forward while keeping out of trouble.”
