Russell Ingall takes second for Supercheap Auto Racing in Queensland.

"I had an engine drama in Race 3 and didn't want to cause a Safety Car for Russell when he was pushing Winterbottom, so I just pulled over and out of the way," he explained. "It was disappointing as this morning my car was pretty good and we had great pace.

"Losing grid positions before the race wasn't ideal, but if you expect to get punched in the face it shouldn't be surprising when you do. It was pretty obvious what they were going to do, but I'm not going to change the way I do anything.

"Most importantly, Russell's podium was fantastic - it's the best thing to happen for me in a long time and it's great for the team and our sponsors. It was really good watching him on the infield after I parked the car as I could see where we were strong and what we need to work on. There's even more improvement to come, so we're all excited about the remainder of the season."
