V8 champion Garth Tander took Toll HRT to top spot in the qualifying shoot-out at Mount Panorama.

Comment on this Story
“With the last minute inclusion of the WOW car in the Top Ten Shoot-out, we were always going to be at a disadvantage," team boss Kim Jones admitted, "We had no 'green' tyres for this session, but Max drove an excellent lap and returned a clean car with all it's corners. A top ten position to start the 'big race' tomorrow is what we've been planning for.”

With the Holden of Paul Weel withdrawn from the race after his crash with Chris Pither on Friday, the field will number 27 at the start if the latter's Team Kiwi Racing is successful in rebuilding the 'All Black Ford' overnight.
