Subaru sporting director, Luis Moya meanwhile has more modest expectations and has said that he will be happy if Solberg and number two driver,
Chris Atkinson both finish in the top six, assumingly best of the rest after the two works
BP Ford cars and the two Kronos
Citroen entries.
“In Turkey the main objective for Petter, Chris and the team is to put both cars in the top six,” confirmed Moya. “That said however, of course we’ll do our best to get a better result if the opportunity is there. Since the last rally our engineering team has continued its work on the car’s performance and we have held a five-day development test in Sicily. We’re making steady progress and are doing everything possible to get the team fully competitive again as soon as possible."
Atkinson is also hopeful he can get a good points’ finish and has said that his game-plan is to hang in there and try and get a top-five finish: “Coming so soon after Cyprus I think it’s going to be a difficult rally. In Cyprus we weren’t expecting a fantastic result, we were realistic about our chances and that’s what we got,” he noted. “This week I’m hoping to keep things more consistent. Going at the same pace we were running at in Cyprus I think a top-five finish is possible - we’ll just have to wait and see.”

OMV Peugeot’s Manfred Stohl will take a step into the unknown this week, when he makes his debut on the Rally of Turkey. Stohl has had a strong season to date and backed that up with another solid points finish in Cyprus three weeks ago, when he brought his Bozian-run Peugeot 307 WRC car home in fourth place.
