While a win this weekend might be a bit hopeful that won’t stop ‘Hollywood’ from trying and he has already said he is ‘ready for a good fight’ with
Sebastien Loeb and Marcus Gronholm, the current pace setters.
“I’m sure Argentina will be a very exciting rally, especially with the changing weather and the Superspecial in Buenos Aires,” said Petter. “I think our trip to River Plate Stadium is very important for the sport because it will give many people an idea of what is going to happen up in Cordoba. Some of them might not have seen rallying before. It’s hard to make a prediction for this rally, but I hope for the best. The team is fully motivated and we are ready for a good fight.”
Chris Atkinson meanwhile will take a step into the unknown on the Rally Argentina, as it will be his first competitive outing with new co-driver, Stephane Prevot. Atkinson’s former co-pilot, Glenn Macneall announced that he was stepping down following the Rallye de Portugal and while the one month gap gave the team ample time to find a replacement, that is never easy, particularly with the season already well underway.
Despite that change though, Atkinson believes that he can still get a very solid result and he was pleased with how they gelled during the pre-event test in Sardinia. Indeed it went so well that the Aussie has set his sights on finishing in the top five.
“On this event I’ll have Stephane [Prevot] co-driving for me for the first time in a competitive situation,” he stated. “I’m looking forward to working with him and we’re aiming to be competitive and bring the car home in the top five.”
