Subaru meanwhile has revealed that they are ‘confident’ that the problems that affected their number one driver,
Petter Solberg in Finland two weeks ago will not reoccur this coming weekend.
“The car got back to the UK on Tuesday [from Finland] and we can reveal that the problems on leg 1 and leg 2 were due to two different issues,” a spokesperson for the SWRT confirmed exclusively to
Crash.net. “On the Friday it was a differential failure and this was only confirmed afterwards as the part was sent back to the UK to be dismantled. The issues on the Saturday were related to the dampers – and were not connected with the diffs.
“What caused the failures is still being looked into and is part of an on-going analysis.”
Pressed on if the issues could affect the team’s performance in Germany, the spokesperson added that shouldn’t be a problem.
“We had an encouraging tarmac test in July and we are confident the problems will not re-occur. The team is working flat-out to discover what caused the failures so that everything is sorted for the next gravel event, the Rally New Zealand, at the end of this month,” he summed-up.

Caution the word.
Sebastien Loeb has dismissed suggestions that he will have it easy on the Rallye Deutschland, even though he will go into the event as the undisputed favourite. The Frenchman has an unrivalled record in Germany and ever since the event joined the
FIA World Rally Championship back in 2002, he has come out top.
Indeed the Trier-based event was the scene of his maiden triumph in the WRC five years ago and last year he won by more than 30 seconds, with Dani Sordo second and Marcus Gronholm, the current leader in the race for this year’s drive title, a very distant third.
