“If the weather stays dry, certainly at the start of the event at least, then I think all three
Stobart drivers – including my son Matthew [who will be in the ‘third’ car] could finish with strong results. Still, with Corsica being run the following weekend, all the guys will have to take care as both the cars and the engines will be re-used for the French rally.”

Munchi’s duo set to take step into the unknown.
Munchi’s Ford World Rally Team duo
Luis Perez Companc and Federico Villagra will make their debut in Spain this coming weekend as they gear up for their first attempt at an all-asphalt round in the WRC.
In the countdown to the Rally Catalunya both Companc and Villagra have spent time testing in Spain and the pair also carried out a small 50 kilometre shakedown test on Monday in the north of the country.
Companc is aware though that it is going to be a tough event: “This rally will be difficult as it is going to be a totally new experience for me as I have never driven competitively on asphalt before,” confirmed the Munchi’s team leader. “We have tested for two days on asphalt in Spain and the feeling is very different to the gravel.
“It took me a while to get used to this new sensation but slowly I started to make some progress and found how to drive the car better. It reacts totally different to when you drive it on gravel and I think it will take me some time, once the rally starts, to adjust.
“This is my first time on this rally and to try and help I have been watching some videos of last year’s edition of the rally just to get an idea of what the roads look like and what type of conditions I will be facing.
