Rally reactions: Swedish Rally - Day 2.

Saturday, 9th February 2008

"It's getting exciting, but I don't want to get too excited yet..." - Jari-Matti Latvala.

[Speaking in the mid-day service] "This morning has been very good we had a good pace from the first stage and just tried to keep the same speed as Henning [Solberg]. My plan is to keep driving well and find a good balance again like yesterday. I still don’t know the car well enough to push harder but I’m happy with the pace at the moment and it’s really good to have moved up into a podium position, we will try and maintain this today."

Petter Solberg [Subaru WRT]:

"We drove as fast as we could in the conditions today. We couldn’t attack or really push, we just drove our own rally. Ok we’re in fourth, but I didn’t have a good feeling with the car today. We’ll make some more changes in service for tomorrow and see tomorrow."

[Speaking in the mid-day service] "We made some changes to the car last night in the last service to try and improve the feel we had yesterday. It’s still so, so tricky out there though. We’re going as fast as we can, driving our own rally and looking for more points at this stage."

Matthew Wilson [Stobart VK M-Sport Ford WRT]:

"Andreas [Mikkelsen] has been pushing me very hard today and we lost some time to him this morning but we have managed it well and we made up the pace a bit this afternoon to keep ahead of him. It’s been great to get up into fifth and enjoy ourselves on some difficult stages. We have settled into a really good pace here and hopefully we can continue this way to the end of the rally."

[Speaking in the mid-day service] "We have moved up two places this morning so that has been quite promising I’ve found a comfortable pace and the tyres have been working quite well so we will try and keep at this pace this afternoon. It’s a shame about Henning [Solberg] but it has moved us up to fifth and now its time for me to consolidate this position. The car feels really good and everything is working well for us."

Andreas Mikkelsen [Ramsport Ford Focus WRC]:

"It was quite good today. We will try and keep pushing tomorrow."

Daniel Sordo [Citroen Total WRT]:

"I was more familiar with today's stages than those programmed yesterday and I found a good pace at once. My driving on these slippery stages is getting better all the time and I was pleased with my run today. My C4 WRC coped very well with the rougher portions, too, and I hope I can improve my position further still to score extra points for Citroen."
