"It has been another great day as the
Stobart team still remain on the podium with Gigi [Galli] in third. It hasn’t been the best day for Henning [Solberg] as this event means a lot to him and I know he is very disappointed. Hopefully we can get him back out tomorrow as it means quite a few more points for the team. Matthew [Wilson] has had a good day also and is now up to fifth and is coping well with probably the most difficult Swedish Rally conditions we have seen in a while."
David Richards [Subaru WRT - managing director]:
"We saw further crews fall by the wayside today as the surface became more treacherous, and whilst the front-runners have all backed off and are driving cautiously, we may still see some surprises."
Olivier Quesnel [Citroen Total WRT - team principal]:
"It's been a positive day. Our two crews came through the pitfalls unscathed and the Citroën C4 WRC was quick. The mission of Dani and Marc was to try to improve on their overnight position and they achieved their objective to the letter since they gained 11 places. There are still 97km of stages to come on Sunday and perhaps they will be able to move even further up the order. The engine of Seb and Daniel started to show signs of weakness – no doubt as a result of their off yesterday – and we preferred to stop them."
Nobuhiro Tajima [Suzuki WRT - team boss]:
"The Swedish Rally has not got any easier for us, but we have a points finish within our grasp, which would be a fantastic way to end what is only the second rally of our first full season. Before we can even think about that we have to get through the final day tomorrow, which will almost be as long as today when you take into account the stage that has been cancelled. Toni, as well as the rest of the team, needs to focus on keeping concentrated and doing the best job possible in these tricky circumstances."
Mario Isola [Pirelli - rally manager]:
"We’ve had more than just positive feedback about our Sottozero tyres, which the drivers have liked even in these very changeable surface conditions. We’ve only seen a very limited number of punctures, underlining the strength of our tyres and studs."
