"I’m convinced that the Peugeot 307 WRC, prepared by Bozian Racing, will be a rocket on gravel. Argentina is among my favourite events and I’ll give my all to reach the podium. This would be the perfect present for my anniversary," said Stohl. "I think that 100 WRC starts are not proof of a good performance in themselves, though they show a certain kind of continuity which was and is also possible thanks to my sponsor OMV. I am proud to have had them as my partner since my first WRC assignment."
Henning Solberg after last competing almost two months ago in Mexico is chomping at the bit to get out and show his stuff.
"We’ve had a long break since Mexico but we are highly motivated and convinced we will be able to score points in Argentina," said the Norwegian. "The only disadvantage is that I’ve never before competed on this rally. But the conditions should be to my liking and since fifth place in Mexico we know that we can keep up with the best."
Stobart VK Ford:
[
Matthew Wilson, car #9 and Luis-Perez Companc, car #10]
This is another new event for Matthew Wilson, who will be joined by Luis-Perez Companc, who last competed for the Stobart VK squad in Mexico. The Brit though is looking forward to getting back onto gravel.
"Since Corsica I've been working on my pace notes with Michael [Orr - my co-driver] and we've been making good progress which hopefully will help in Argentina," he noted. "I'll be glad to get back on gravel, it's a rally everybody enjoys and it'll be interesting to see how I get on back on a surface I have more experience with. It's a totally different thing from the tarmac of the last two events and we had good speed on gravel in Mexico. It was funny doing the pace note practice up in Cumbria as it was blue skies and 15 degrees, Michael couldn't believe it!"
Companc meanwhile should be particularly up for it as it is his home event and as such he will be out to make a point. Having driven the Focus on two events already, in Sweden and Mexico, he has plenty of mileage behind him too.
