"In any case, I know that when I over-push, I lose time. I don’t drive faster if I take more risks. I will start as fast as I can like last year and I will see where we are. As I said in Finland you understand very quickly if you have some chances to win or not. If we can fight with the fastest competitors – Marcus [Gronholm] being probably the quickest amongst them - you can be sure that we will do our maximum to reach the grail and win."
Kronos team boss, Marc van Dalen meanwhile 'trusts' that Loeb will be sensible: "Last year, with a performing Xsara in Finland, Seb pushed Marcus Gronholm during sixteen of the twenty-one stages of the rally. I think he naturally wants to try again this year, knowing that he has one more participation under his belt - and that he can rely on an improved Xsara," said van Dalen. "I know he really wants to win this event and he will be free to judge and decide what to do. I’m convinced he will think of the two championships though if he estimates that winning is out of reach."
As for number two driver,
Daniel Sordo, van Dalen is aware that the Spaniard will be hard pushed to repeat his Rallye Deutschland result this weekend: "Dani will be faced with a much tougher task than in Germany. But again, I have full confidence in his talent and intelligence, like we have seen last year in the Super 1600. He knows he has to finish the event to pile up some experience but also to try to score valuable points for us in the manufacturers' championship."
Sordo, who has also been confirmed in the #2 car now for Cyprus, concurs that it won't be easy for him although he is hoping his experience in the JWRC last year should help to some extent.
