"I’m looking forward to Finland as it’s a gravel event and it should suit my driving style,” said the young Brit. “I attended the
BP Ford World Rally Team test and sat alongside Marcus Gronholm when he tested there so I gained a lot from that. It’s a flat out event and it has big jumps. We’ll be looking to complete the event and gain experience rather than go for all out results but I’m sure it will be enjoyable all the same."
Wilson Jr will be joined by Marcus Gronholm’s protégé, Kosti Katajamaki, who is set for his fourth outing in the second
Stobart VK-backed Ford Focus. Katajamaki last outing with the Stobart VK team was back in Greece, however to date this season his results haven’t been especially good and after a sixth place finish in Sweden, it was all down hill in Sardinia, where he retired and in Greece, where he was eventually classified in 26th position. This weekend though he has high hopes and he will be hoping to utilise his local expertise and show he has what it takes to succeed at the pinnacle of the sport.
"It is obviously my home rally so I will be trying for a good result," he noted. "It is a very fast rally and I like my rallies that way as it is how I am quickest; twisty and narrow I don’t like so much. To be fast you have to choose the right lines and be committed. I will have a lot of my fans and sponsors there so I will be trying hard for them. The only target I have for the rally is to be faster and faster on every stage and progress all the time."
Stobart will also again run a car for Barry Clark, who will be competing in the
FIA Junior World Rally Championship and the Fiesta SportingTrophy International.
