Loeb: Still a long way to go.

Loeb: Still a long way to go.

Citroen team leader Sebastien Loeb remains upbeat following the inaugural World Rally Championship event in Jordan, despite missing out on an almost certain victory.

3 people agree.  2 people disagree.

After recently saying that I felt sorry for Loeb after his accident robbed him of another potential win I have to say Im dissapointed to hear him blame poor Conrad for the accident. All the rallies I did I always took care going in and out of stages where cars pass in opposite direction, its usually always tight and you have to crawl past. I dont understand why it was such a big accident. The damage suggests the impact speed for each car was perhaps 20mph. Conrad said it was no ones fault, just an unfortunate accident. Loeb should know better !!!!

Noone blamed anyone as far as I read:

"It's was an unusual accident," explained Loeb. "The start and the finish of the special were in the same place, so it's the same road and the cars pass each other ... when they manage to pass each other.

"We didn't manage to. He (Rautenbach) was in a bit of a hurry and we saw each other at the last minute. I wasn't totally concentrated either because I had finished the special.

"It's really stupid of us that's all I can say."

Why do the WRC in Jordania? The FIA is always more lost as your President.

Nonsense. It depends who was where on the road. If Loeb would have been on the right side and Rautenbach in the middle of the road it would have given the same damage, but Rautebach would have been "at fault".

Don't try to interpret an accident that happenend on a sandy road in Jordan from behind your PC.

I can do the same: As a Gronholm fan you must be a Loeb-hater You make a fool of yourself blaming people directly unless you are Conrad himself.

Right now noone blames anyone so basically both were at fault according to their interviews. Unless both of them give their complete version its useless blah...

On the other hand, probably like you, I would love to see Gronholm back
