Anyone else feel that Wilson is a bit spoilt by Daddy and doesn't deserve that seat? I can think of a few young Brits who have done more (maybe with more experience granted) and so deserve it more than Matt, I mean, what has he actually achieved?

I totally agree with the comments made but from the things i've heard and led to believe Matt is doing just what was/is expected of him- to go out, FINISH rallies, gain the experience and then start to get the speed and results. Mikkelsons got speed and the odd good result but he a'int half burying some cars in the scenery!! Personally i cant see why no-one WOULDN'T put Mark Higgins in the car tho...

But if it's all about gaining experience then shouldn't he be doing that elsewhere, like everyone else who doesn't happen to be Malcolm Wilson's son has to? There are less eye-catching ways of paving the way for your kid too, giving him a good car for JWRC och PWRC would make more sense because this way it's just wasting a competitive drive that many other drivers could do great things with. There are tons of drivers capable of finishing rallies, what makes you stand out is speed, simple as that. And to me, he's shown none of it. But hey, you brits have other talented drivers.

Admittedly, Matt probably got a leg-up into the WRC like no-one else has, but think of the pressure on his shoulders now. Britain's only full time WRC driver (expected to follow in the massive footsteps left by Colin and Richard), he's been given a competitive car and told to prove himself; to the fans, to the other teams/drivers and to his father, who is probably his harshest critic. Given that amount of pressure, on someone not even 21 yet, i think the results he has achieved so far are brilliant, and if he continues this way, taking advice, driving and finishing rallies and setting some quick times as he goes, i don't see any reason why he won't end up in a top team, winning rallies.
