Latvala sets pace in Turkish shakedown.

I have to say,Latvala is certainly making this years WRC exciting,I think he is a bit like F1's Hamilton in so much that hes such an awesome young talent that his employer has been nurturing and part funding for some time. Ok he hasnt been near as dominant in wins as Lewis in F1 but then Rallying is not as easy as going round and round in circles and has more rocks to navigate - lol,I think Seb needs to win the title this year coz it could be his last chance,thats how confident I am of Latvala being totally untouchable next season. I think he may even be able to win this year in Finland, can you imagine how spectacular he will be there,and New Zealand too. Theyre the ones you dont wanna miss

In fact I can see maybe in three or four years from now Latvala being number 1 at Ford and Mikkleson being the new Latvala.

Dafydd, i think Marcus will drive the finland rally, so no chance for Latvala this year :(

I (almost) agree entirely on the prospect of Latvala. He's got an amazing amount of speed, and is only improving. The only thing I don't agree on is the comparison to Hamilton, who has been handed a career on a plate: Jari-Matti at least had to prove himself in the Stobart first. But other than that, yes, Jari-Matti has every chance on showing up Hirvonen throughout the year and even really challenging Loeb. His stagetimes in some places have been phenomenal, you can see why Loeb rates him so highly.

I also agree with your mention of Mikkelsen. Ford know they have a big talent there, hence the partnership with Gronholm. Expect big things from him as soon as he gets a full time drive.

Very different two person. Latvala is more humble and friendly.

Interesting theory about Marcus there Boris, I havnt heard anything but that for sure would be interesting, if you remember last year was close between Mikko and marcus and Jari Matti was initially beating them both in the first two stages with no proir testing, I think maybe he could beat Marcus there in a straight fight, also Marcus would be a little rusty too where as Jari has been getting better and better. It would be nice to see Marcus back though. You have to agree Jari Matti seems the only threat to Sebs speed this year, he just needs to be more consistent. maybe there would be a Ford 123 for sure.
