"As a well spent day brings happy sleep, so a life well spent brings happy death." ~ Leonardo da Vinci
Life well spent is an understatement of a great man, who's life will forever be remembered and spirit forever embraced.
"Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today."
"One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching."

Colin was my childhood hero. Memories of him coming down Bunnings Jumps with an utter disregard of gravity, his battle with Juha at 1994 Rally Australia, and watching him hussle a Skoda (almost) onto the podium are memories that will stay with me and inspired my passion for the sport. I, along with many others, had hoped he would return to the WRC next year. It is perhaps fitting that his last rally drive involved him turning a Subaru Impreza on its roof! The sport needs more like Colin, drivers with charisma both inside and out of the car. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Colin McRae

What a legend and what a guy. I am stuck for words on what to say? There are so many memories that we all have of Colin. When he won the world championship was just a tremendous day for British motor sport, when he battered the hell out of his ford focus, and when he nearly got onto the podium with a little old skoda; are just a few memories. He was the only reason why I and many others watched the WRC and I just wished one of the manufacturers gave him another chance of the WRC to what he deserved. Shame on you! (Citroen,Ford,Subaru) He had the heart, the speed and the balls of a true legend. Many world champions will come and go but there will only be one Colin McRae. RIP

Terrible news. When are people going to take heed that helicopter crash stats are so high - lethal things they are. Steve Hislop, BSB and TT legend went the same way, and the military are always crashing them. Just not worth it. The world of sport has lost a true hero.

A great shame, helicopters rarely give you a second chance. British rallying really is being unfairly hit, RB, DKW and Michael Park all going before him.
