Double World Rally champion, Carlos Sainz will get his hands on Fernando Alonso's championship winning Renault R25 next weekend.

Double World Rally champion, Carlos Sainz will get his hands on Fernando Alonso's championship winning Renault R25 next weekend.

Sainz, who took the WRC title in 1990 and 1992 and who retired from WRC at the end of 2004, will drive the R25 at Barcelona, during the final round of the World Series by Renault.

"I have driven many cars throughout my racing career but driving the reigning F1 World champion's will be a fantastic experience," said the Spaniard. "I am really grateful to Renault for giving me such a great opportunity. Over the last few years, I've been interested in everything related to circuit racing and go-karts, and in particular, the World Series by Renault."

Sainz will make three outings during the weekend in total - on Saturday, October 28, at 4.10 pm and then twice on Sunday, October 29, at 9.55 am and 3.20 pm.
