"I just went as quickly as I could: I had no choice. I think it's going to be another really good fight this weekend." - Sebastien Loeb.

[Speaking in the mid-day service] "This has been a good start to the rally for us but just in the last stage I though my driving just wasn't up to the standard. I was too sharp in the corners and probably driving too aggressively again, this is what I am trying to move away from. The car and tyres have both been perfect today and for this afternoon the plan is to concentrate hard on my driving. We will make some small clicks to the dampers in service but generally the car is feeling very good and I prefer to concentrate on improving my driving than play around with the car settings. I just need to get back into the rhythm this afternoon and try and improve the times."

Chris Atkinson [Subaru WRT]:

“The middle stint of the last stage wasn't so bad, but the bumpy sections of route seemed to suit me better today than the very smooth asphalt. I don't have the confidence to push hard, and to commit to the faster, longer corners. The car is well balanced but it's very difficult to predict the grip. We have taken the steps that seem logical to arrive at a good setup but they don't seem to work so we will have to try something different.”

[Speaking in the mid-day service] "I wasn't confident with the feel of the brakes at the start of stage three, and so lost a lot of time not being able to push as hard as I would have liked into corners. The brakes improved as the stage progressed and were ok at the end, it was just that we lost a lot of time in the early section. During the second loop of stages we will have to be careful with the dirt and gravel dragged onto the route."

Xavier Pons [Subaru WRT]:

"Today was not so good for me as I don't feel that I can push hard enough at the moment. We made some changes to the car and the afternoon loop was better, but I'd like to be higher than we are after today and so we will keep pushing as hard as we can to develop the feeling in the car. There are still two more days and ten stages, so I hope that tomorrow we will be faster and on leg three faster still. It would be a great boost to the team to be able to go to Japan knowing we have good pace.”
