Jari-Matti Latvala goes into the Wales Rally GB on a high following his first-ever podium result in Ireland two weeks ago.
The
Stobart man, who many believe is almost certain to be promoted to Ford's 'A' team in 2008, has done the Welsh event five times already, having made his WRC debut on the 'RAC' rally back in 2002, when he was just 17-years-old.
Last season he finished fourth in GB and while he is again going for a top-five, there is no doubt he would love to get his second top-three finish on the trot.
"This is going to be a very exciting event and one where I think I can do well," said the Finn. "I have competed on this event every year since 2002 and finished every time so my experience of GB is already quite good.
"[Fellow Ford runner] Marcus [Gronholm] has the chance of winning the championship in Wales and I will try and help him as much as possible. The conditions can be very slippery especially if it is wet because as more cars pass across the stages it starts to break the surface and make things very muddy.
"It will be interesting to see if we can keep ahead of
Subaru too - and I know it is something all the team, and especially Henning [Solberg – my team-mate] competing against his brother's team, will be very excited to achieve.
"I will try and do as well as possible here and for sure I want to get into the top-five but it would be a great thing to get on the podium for the second event in a row," he summed-up.
So how will Latvala get on in Wales?
Can he get another podium?
