Citroen privateer Conrad Rautenbach has said that he will be targeting a points finish in Argentina this coming weekend.

Rautenbach switched to using a C4 WRC car in Mexico earlier this month and while he only finished 16th overall, he had a pretty solid event. Indeed he would have easily been in the top-ten if he hadn't made a mistake on day 1 in SS3, when he hit a bank and broke a track control arm - something that forced him to miss the rest of the opening leg.

His pace on days two and three though was very respectable and he managed top ten stage results in every single test he contested competitively.

Now following a good test in the south of France last week, the Zimbabwean is looking forward to his second competitive outing with the C4.

"After a day testing my Citroen C4 WRC, I can't wait to get back behind the wheel for shakedown in Argentina," he stated. "Every kilometre I do in the car – and I did another 100 in France – I feel more at home in the car.

"The day itself wasn't actually aimed at Rally Argentina. It was a rough gravel test for Sardinia, Greece and Turkey, so the C4 was running much higher than we'll have it in South America, but it was great to be driving it again.

"One of the most important things I did at the test was work on the differential set-up. I was able to work with the pre-loads on the front and rear and then work more on the centre diff. It was so useful to make the changes, get out, drive the car and feel what difference the changes had made.

"I didn't have time to do this before Mexico and we weren't about to start playing with this during the rally. So, I have a much clearer idea of where I'm going with the car and what changes I can make to the C4 if I feel there's too much understeer on turn-in, for example.
