Sungkar was followed home by New Caledonia's Jean-Louis Leyraud (Subaru), Japan's Atushi Masumura (Mitsubishi), and Kiwi Brian Green (Mitsubishi).

Such was the torrid pace of the rally, only seven A-P-registered cars were classified as finishers.

The APRC now continues at the start of next month with the Rally Whangarei in New Zealand, which runs from June 7-8.
