Olivier Quesnel [Citroen Total WRT - team principal]:
"Hot temperatures, the difficulty of the stages and the intensity of the event made this a really gruelling weekend for all members of the Citroen Sport team. Seb and Daniel produced a perfect rally given the conditions. They gave it everything and should be proud of their third place. The result for Dani and Marc is also very good. They had to fight hard to get 4th place and they succeeded. We've now reached mid-season. Seb is only three points behind in the Drivers' Championship and Citroën is nine points off the lead in the Manufacturers' table. The gaps are therefore quite small. The remainder of the season promises to be extremely exciting."
Malcolm Wilson [Stobart VK M-Sport Ford WRT - team boss]:
"The Stobart drivers have really shone on this seriously demanding event. Gigi and Henning both set fastest times and the team have closed the championship gap to
Subaru. Matthew has been brilliant here, he has really knuckled down and put in a strong performance, again picking up more driver points. It's been a disappointing end to the rally for Gigi and its just shows how tough and physically demanding this sport is. All of the guys deserve a well-earned break over the summer now after a recent series of strong results."
Andrew Tinkler [Stobart Group CEO]:
"I know Matthew and Scott have been training hard recently for the marathon charity bike ride and their fitness has been a big help this weekend. The Stobart crews have pushed hard in the tough conditions and more fastest times from Henning and Gigi shows the talent and speed we have in the team. I know the second half of the season will bring us more great results as the guys continue to improve."
David Lapworth [Subaru WRT - technical director]:
"We've successfully completed the first stage of our development programme for our new car and are really happy with the progress we've made to date. We are in a very good position to really take advantage of the season break and accelerate the second phase of the programme, which is using the competitive experience we now have with the car to improve it step-by-step. We will also conduct asphalt testing for the three sealed surface events in the second half of the season. With a brand new car we've shown promising performance, and we're feeling confident of our competitiveness for the rest of the year."
Paul Wilding [Suzuki WRT - team manager]:
[Speaking at the end of day two] "We have seen more pace coming from the Suzuki SX4 WRC on this rally. It would have been nice to have got through more stages, as every kilometre we do with this car means more experience for the drivers and the team. P-G has lost a lot of time missing stages today, so the team felt it more worthwhile to trace the cause of the electrical problem here in the service park rather than sending the car out again."
Peter Tyson [Pirelli - marketing director motorsport]:
"In this second rally with really tough roads and weather conditions, the hard compound Pirelli Scorpion proved to be strong and performed well. Congratulations to Ford for this win that makes the fight in the Championship extremely heated and credit due to [Sebastien] Loeb, who was brilliant, especially in the first part of the race."
