Kronos boss Marc van Dalen meanwhile believes that Snijers has the potential to shine on his home round in the IRC: "The day went well and we were able to take advantage of some nice weather. Patrick drove just over 110 kilometres in the Super 2000 car, which was his first experience of this type of machinery," added van Dalen.

"Along with BFGoodrich, we tried out several different sorts of tyre, and the consequent results on these Ypres stages have so far been extremely encouraging. Patrick didn't take long to get to grips with the car, while the team was able to concentrate on set-up work.

"As Patrick racked up more distance, we were able to try him on some increasingly aggressive set-ups and he soon felt confident in the car, which was extremely well balanced throughout the session. I definitely think that he's got every chance of doing something special when it comes to the rally."
