Xavier Pons features on strong entry list for IRC Supporter Event.

Former Subaru and Kronos-Citroen works driver Xavier Pons will compete on the Sata Rallye Acores next month.

The Spaniard has entered the event at the wheel of a Mitsubishi Lancer and is one of a number of stars that feature on the strong entry list for what is one of the eight IRC Supporter Events that have registered for the scheme so far.

Amongst the other drivers' competing on the island will be reigning Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Enrique Garcia Ojeda in a Peugeot 207 S2000 run by Peugeot Spain, while reigning Portuguese champion Bruno Magalhaes will drive a similar car.

Andorran driver Albert Llovera, who lost the use of his legs in a skiing accident several years ago, meanwhile will drive an Abarth Grande Punto that has been especially adapted with hand controls.

The event runs from July 3-5.
