BFGoodrich has confirmed that it has received 24 dossiers from crews wishing to fly the BFGoodrich Drivers Team's colours on the forthcoming Barum Rally Zlin, the sixth round in the 2008 Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
The BFGoodrich Drivers Team gives drivers a chance to contest their home round of the IRC for free in a Kronos-run Peugeot 207 Super 2000 car alongside team regulars Freddy Loix and Nicolas Vouilloz.
A shortlist of five drivers will be drawn up by BFGoodrich and Kronos Racing from the 24 applicants and then, on July 24, a panel of Czech Republic journalists will take part in a secret vote to select the crew that will be given the opportunity to contest the event from August 22-24.
The winning crew will then take part in a test on August 8 to familiarise themselves with the Peugeot and also maximise their chances of figuring well in the final classification of the Barum Rally Zlin itself.

We are obviously very pleased, too, with the way the third step of this innovative scheme is going in Czech Republic," said BFGoodrich Competition director Frédéric Henry-Biabaud. "For BFGoodrich, it is a chance to underpin our attachment to rallying through the support the operation gives to drivers of the different countries involved.
"It is a major commitment on behalf of the brand which has shown that the quality of its tyres is a real 'plus', both in rallying and rally-raids."
