"The morning had been okay for me. I was still trying to find the confidence after Catalunya. And, in all honesty, I wasn't pushing hard enough. I just wanted to get to the finish of the day - but it wasn't going to be that way. Not far after the start of the last-but-one stage of the day, I was going into a left-hander. I cut the corner, but the bottom of the car skated on the sumpguard. The car went across the road and off on the other side. We couldn't get back to the road, but the car was completely undamaged and we will start again tomorrow."
Team principals:
Olivier Quesnel [Citroen Total WRT - team principal]:
"Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena produced another polished performance today, picking up five more stage wins. They didn't make any mistakes and looked after their car and tyres impeccably. That approach has taken them even further clear of their pursuers and they are in an ideal position going into the final day. Seb and Daniel have once again demonstrated the competitiveness and ability of the C4 WRC on asphalt, but we can't afford to take our eye off the ball. Tomorrow's leg is very long, with more than 116km of competitive action and some notoriously treacherous stages still to come."
Malcolm Wilson [BP Ford Abu Dhabi WRT - team director]:
"We wanted to keep the pressure on Loeb and we'll try to do the same tomorrow. There are four long stages so we can't afford to relax."
David Richards [Subaru WRT - managing director]:
"The conditions today have been really tough, and there have been a lot of punctures which have reshuffled the order. Unfortunately, although he remains in a strong sixth position, Chris' puncture dropped him from the battle with Petter and Latvala. Petter is still doing a solid job in fifth, and it is great to see Brice moving into the top eight on his home rally."
Malcolm Wilson [Stobart VK M-Sport Ford WRT - team boss]:
"It has been a really strong day for both nominated drivers and it's great to see how Matthew bounced back from yesterday's problems and is now back up into the points. It's also been a sterling performance from Jari-Matti, he really stamped his authority today and is just one place off a podium. Both cars ran faultlessly but we still have a tough day tomorrow with the longest stage of the rally so the action is not over yet."
Shusuke Inagaki [Suzuki WRT - team director]:
"Both drivers showed consistency today. Unfortunately, P-G has had a problem in stage 11 this afternoon, which was a shame because his confidence was coming back to him and he was setting better times. And Toni had gone really well, setting times always in or right on the edge of the top 10. We were happy with that, particularly as he has been struggling with his illness. Then he lost time in both the last stages. Toni and P-G will be back and fighting for Suzuki on these incredible Corsican roads tomorrow."
