Citroen number two Dani Sordo has promised that he will be trying harder than ever to get a good result on the Rally GB this week, the final round in the 2008 World Rally Championship.
This will be the Spaniard's third attempt at the Welsh event and he knows the Citroen Total World Rally Team will be counting on him to try and help defend its eleven-point lead over Ford in the race for the manufacturers' title.
Sordo has finished in the points on both of his previous outings in GB - taking a seventh place finish on his WRGB debut in 2006 and fifth last year, and a repeat of that kind of form this Sunday could be just what is required.
Dani will also be eager to get a strong result as he retired for the second event in succession in Japan - withdrawn following the final stage as he was only tenth following a turbo problem on day one.
"We will be trying harder than ever to score a top result in Wales," confirmed the 2005 Junior World Rally champion. "I haven't got all that much experience of this event, but that doesn't stop me from being something of a fan.
"It's such a varied rally and the stages aren't too tough on the cars. What I dislike the most however is the fog.
"At night, when the only thing you can see in front of you is a white wall, it really isn't easy. It takes a big effort to push yourself to go faster.
"On top of that, if you add rain or even snow into the equation, then it's nothing short of a nightmare. But that's what makes it such a legendary event! Winning the Manufacturers' title [for Citroen] in Wales would be the best reward I can think of."
