Win for Haga on home soil.

Noriyuki Haga took an awesome win at Monza, the home round for his Yamaha Italia team. He beat Bayliss over the line at the sixth round of the Corona Extra World Superbike Championship by 8.403secs.

Toseland's tyre problems started to become apparent on lap seven as he started sliding around on the track. By lap nine Haga had gapped Toseland who was struggling to match his pace.

Troy Croser was running mid pack when he seemed to have a problem which dropped him back as he adjusted something on the dash board of his bike. The next rider to have a moment was Biaggi who looked like he ran too deep into the first chicane and went into the gravel; he got himself back on track quickly and was soon into the groove again.

During the final three laps of the race Toseland started going backwards and was gradually picked off by Bayliss and Biaggi. His team-mate Rolfo had the same problem but it all kicked in on the final lap and he was lucky to bring it home.
