Did you enjoy your radio control bike race?

It was different! I was rubbish at first and I was getting a bit frustrated, I was going to throw the towel in, but they gave me a different control and that was it - I ended up first! To be fair the competition wasn't that strong, Haga was on the grass at turn one, Bayliss didn't even race and Biaggi, I think he was knocking Haga off again!

Is that a good omen for the race weekend?
JT:
If they perform like that it will be easy for me. They aren't going to make it that easy on the real track for sure. I'm looking forward to it; it will be a big weekend.

What happened at Suzuka?
JT:
I went from Hero to Zero in three laps. I did the Suzuka eight minute race instead of the Suzuka eight hour! I made a mistake and everybody is going on about this front tyre that I didn't have any experience on and Kiyo crashed on it in the morning. That is true but there are no excuses, I pushed hard to try and get the leader. I didn't think I was pushing too hard to crash because it was an eight hour race and I'm not stupid I don't push too hard in an eight hour race on lap three to be able to crash. I didn't think I was in that situation unfortunately I was and I ended up in the gravel. I was disappointed especially because of the situation where you also put your team-mate out of the race as well, which was Kiyo the blue eyed boy from Japan. I did feel a bit of an idiot but I tried my best and it was a massive effort. I wanted to go there and win, we tried and unfortunately it didn't happen so yeah – back to business.

What was the Suzuka experience like?
JT:
It was incredible - I mean I know how important it is for Honda itself but you actually realise why when you go. The Endurance race eight hour is just one massive event but the actual festival is just huge and it is a great experience to try as a rider.

Are you looking forward to this weekend, you've been swamped by fans already?
JT:
Yeah it is great. I've had a lot of support for all of my career but especially for the last couple of years it has just been incredible. Hopefully I can repay them with what I did at
Donington Park and hopefully one better.
