Martin’s landed: Misano high and dodging cops.

FPR rider Steve Martin gives Crash.net his very latest rider column coming off the back off his season’s best result at the Italian circuit of Misano.

We have got a couple of quiet weeks off now, so I will probably try to fit in a bit of trials riding. I have been out on my new Sherco a few times up in the Swiss Alps, as we've not got over the problem of me being able to take my bike back into Italy to ride it due to the customs stuff.

I didn't really attempt anything too serious as didn't want to injure myself before our race at Misano and you can't really go by yourself in case anything happens. So Sandra came out with me and sat in the mountains watching, and also doing a bit of cop spotting as you're not meant to ride in any part of the Swiss forests! But it's so high up and remote, I say ‘good luck' to anyone who even wants to attempt to find me up there!

Just before I go, a quick welcome to our newest team member, Edward Mitchell - the new son of my race technician, Steve (aka Lofty). He's probably going to want the rider's job but luckily he won't be old enough until about 2020.
