The test was also the first time I’ve really had a strong involvement in all aspects of what’s going on, and not just going out and riding the bike, as I’ve been having an input into the set-up and tyre choice which I’ve got more confidence to do now I know the bike better. And I’m really happy to have that involvement because I know what I can feel and want from the bike so am working well with my crew chief, mechanics and Ohlins in order to achieve what I want, and now hopefully make even more progress. At Brno I got very close to Steve’s lap time, and he has to be my benchmark. I felt very comfortable on the bike and that showed in my riding, as I’ve now got to know the bike better and understand how it behaves in different circumstances.
That’s probably the best couple of days I’ve had on the bike, and it was only a few days ago so should set me up well for a good base setting at Brno this coming weekend, as my geometry and other settings are very similar for Brno to those which I liked at EuroSpeedway.
Until next time...
