Biaggi debut headlines 'Island test.

Biaggi, who hasn't ridden a Superbike since splitting from Alstare Suzuki shortly after the end of the 2007 season, will join most of the leading WSBK and WSS teams in testing at the challenging Australian race track from January 8-10.

Yay. Not been to Max's site for a while, nor read much WSBK stuff, so his Ducati ride is news to me. I wish him well.

I think its a bit strange that the non-factory teams won't get as much time tot test as the factory do.

with or without many test hours I think biaggi has a good shot at the title

Even with the new 1200cc rules, I think the title will go Haga's way, it's about time he won it really, I mean how much has the bloke got to do

Just needs to win more races than anybody else, Steve.
Seriously though he does deserve a rub of the green.
Can't wait for things to start.

too bad Ten kate will not be present at the test, really wanted to see how the new Fireblade stacks up against the competition. oh well guess I'll have to wait to see how charlie chukka, superglue, & kiyo get on with the new bikes.

My question is why didn't they just run the Desmo instead of having to go through all the hassle to run the 1098? Have a modded Desmo and WSBK would be like MotoGP 07

It all starts today then!
It's good that something with the bikes is happening as I'm wishing this month away for the start of racing next month. Troy B running the new development tyres is to be expexted but would have thought Pireli would want more info and get all Ducati boys to run them but it's their choice/ contracted who does.
If the Ducati's dont have a nasty advantage with the new 200cc, I feel that the Yamaha with Nori will be the one as he is the only consistant front runner knowing the bike inside out on 2nd year and HE DOES DESERVE IT BY NOW!
I still want Max to destroy all the other Ducati boys though!

Glad to see Max back, he definitely adds something to WSBK - and you've got to love his 'smooth but deceptively quick' riding style. I have a big fear that Ducati will leave the others for dust a la Motogp 07, especially with the increased reliance on electronics. I hope I'm wrong, last year in WSBK was the best racing anywhere.

Harry, I hope that Max and Ruben get on well considering that Max hasn't been showing his pre-Madonna ways the last year and that the pair can work together, pool their findings and be a real force of strong willed racers. Mind you if we are to believe that Ducati don't like the Factory team getting a kicking from the satelites there could be fireworks as neither Ruben or Max want to be Bridesmaids.
I hope that Ducati don't run away with any advantage or struggle like Greg Levilla did with the Gsxr with a sock on the air intake as we want as level racing as poss so there is no advantage/ disadvantage to make someones Championship look sour.

Was very happy to hear that Max had signed for Ducati in WSBK for 2008. However, I just hope that as the season progresses and the factory guys (Bayliss and Fabrizio) get bike upgrades, Max doesn't start moaning that others have better bikes!

Max has been on customer bikes in the past in MotoGP and I hope that he can accept what he has and the opportunity he has been given and that he lets his riding do the talking!

All the best for 2008 Max!

The 1098 is the lowest tech Ducati race bike ever so 200cc may not make much of a difference.I think it will take some developmentment before its a killer, So i reckon The Samuri will have this season to take it or it will never happen.
Losing last year may be Nori's best motorvation.
I hope it happens before Biaggi wins one.

The temptation to whine about Max is there but i am resisting due to the content of what has already been posted. Last thing we need is what happens in every Ferrari/McLaren thread on here He'll make the series a little more entertaining i am sure
I'm so excited it's untrue, i've been wishing my life away since Magny Cours. I just want another season that is as exciting as the one we have just witnessed...only for Nori to be the victor at the end of it all. ;) Please, please, please don't let them Dukes run away with it...let's have another rip roaring race season to put all the other series to shame.

Time to go post on the nki41.com tagboard methinks
