The start of race one of Phillip Island's double-header on Sunday was blighted by, not one, but two incidents, leaving several riders to continue their weekend carrying bumps and bruises and others, like Vittorio Iannuzzo, facing time on the sidelines.

It was Holland - what a dumass!

Thought it was Kyonari. With Sofuoglu doing some grass-tracking

The rider that went grass hopping was Kenan Sofuoglu,(Major skills to save it too), not Kiyonari
Sbk on tv sux major as far as coverage goes..Sbk people should take a good look at moto gp and act accordingly, this is not club racing wtf. Its not acceptable when guys are fighting for second place and the dumass in charge decides to focus on Haga whos way behind..Commentators talking out of their ***** on the other hand.....racing rocks but coverage is CRAP!

Gotta agree with sal, the television coverage il lousy, they really should take lessons from the guys who do MotoGp. Here in Italy on normal TV the commentary is done by the great Frankie Chilli which saves the "show". Was wondering how many cameras they actually have on track and how much onboard cameras would cost to help better the viewing?

Yeah, definitely, aussie tv sucked balls. The haga images while 5 guys were battling in the last lap were just ridiculous.
Moto gp tv also sux, the best tv racing broadcasts ive seen are by far the AMA on speedtv

Don´t know if the main sponsor had something to say about the television coverage. Seemed to be a Yamaha sponsored round.

So the TV personalities could be better, so what? I was yelling and screaming at the TV yesterday so much, I'm sure the announcers could hear me.

Fantastic racing. Lots more guys with real hopes of victory.

Carlos Checa is a class act, as always. I hope he wins at least once, but realistically, he'll take a few wins. To be this good on a bike they only just received before Qatar and have not had adequate time to shake it down is phenomenal

Although WSB seems to be the refuge of up-and-coming stars and ex-MotoGP riders approaching their pensions, it never stops us seeing amazing racing. People who slag-off some MotoGP riders realise what good riders they really are when they take part in WSB...

So who's gonna go from MotoGP to WSB in 2009? I would say Edwards but he's already hinted at AMA... anyone else? or who will come up from the other race series?

well Edwards, Corser or Haga can try a brand new Aprilia RSV4 next season... it would be a nice comeback
zostje: nakano in sbk? i don't think so...capirossi..if he'll finish his racing it'll be for all type of racing...
good time for Toseland while yamaha still improving the bike, in pramac he would do nothing more than Barros...if he'll show his class this year, Repsol can offer him something i guess...Hayden & Toseland Checa'll be superb in this year, watch out!

How about edwards back to AMA superbike to replace spies who is coming up to motogp to replace capirex at suzuki?
I could picture nice battles between Mladin/edwards. Spies I think coulg be good in motogp - very agressive/hungry, and capirex - wsbk?
