WSBK race results (1) - Valencia

Sort Comments:

WSBK race results (1) - Valencia.

Carlos Checa made a last-gasp attempt to pass Max Neukirchner for victory at the final turn, but fell - bringing Neukirchner down with him and handing Lorenzo Lanzi victory!

What a pity for Max!!!

It was his right to have this victory!...

Shame for Carlos because he was magnificent until final corner in the final lap. But his move was too optimistic and nonsense as result?

The result is a gift for the remaining riders? The secenario was like last 250cc race between Bautista and Simoncelli!!!

Arrrrg.... this Checa, typica, typical, typical!!!!!... I knew Checa would do something as stupid as this, Max deserved to win, but Checa... his move last corner could never worked!
Still as a Byaliss fan, he rode a smart race while his title rivals all fell out, Haga, Xaus, Checa. Well done Biaggi for keeping it up.
Good for Lanzi to win, the poor dude had a very hard time, both professionally and privately, good for him to get some positive moments.
Kagayama, well, at least he didn't heart himself, again.

just read that it says "no personal abuse or attacks"

let me put it this way: give me this Checa and I bite his brainless head off!

He has never been a winner, 'cause he never knew the limits!

Let's hope the second race has a more satisfying outcome!

Too many crashes and most of them haven' t seen on TV screen because of incapable TV directors!!!

Max was the unlucky man of the race. For Carlos, it was too late trying this pass move but sure he wanted a victoy in front of his crowd maybe this reason is acceptable as an excuse!

Bayliss was defending his position but he is the loser of last lap. Thinking on the rivals and points, good result for him to be on podium! Come on old fox!

Lanzi has an angel in final lap as miracle!

Finally Kenan was interesting;

Good start, fair finish? He has same problem in final 5 laps!...It is like a curve first he climbes then stays stable finally drops back?

Let' s see 2nd race?

Checa is a great guy, and I didn't say he is stupid, I said his move was stupid, and may I say predictable.... had Max knew Checa better he only had to give him some more space... go a bit wider and let Checa ride strait into the dirt.....
I would have be more happy to see Bayliss defend his position better and... take the win, but this year the competition is strong and he better think a bit smart then risk a crash. He is going to win races any way.

Really feel sorry for Max N, Chucca's move was never going to work. To add insult to injury he then laps the circuit, waving and lighting the fireworks like he was the winner.

If you've just taken someone out through your own over-optimism/stupidity, a little bit of humility doesn't go amiss.... Having spent a fair bit of time in the Superbike Paddock, Carlos won't have won himself any friends this morning. The Ten Kate guys won't have been impressed. They have a very strong sense of fairness and are also very commercially aware - sponsors won't be amused either...

Yep....all TB is interested in is finishing with the WT under his belt....He is going to race smart this season.....well except for Qatar.
I said Checa could win this but his rep would let him down......Shame about Max.
Bring on the next one ;)
Good to see Muggers up there

Checa was just wavin to his fans Euan, he was also shaking his head a lot. But you shouldn't be an **** to your fans.

Had it been any other race I don't think Checca would have gone for that move. I feel sorry for Max but at the same time he didn't protect the corner very well and left a gap big enough for a bike, the way Checca had ridden until that point I knew he would go for it. Also looked like they might of touched before Checca went down? It was hard to tell from the replays. Still wasnt the cleverest move, bet Lanzi couldnt beleive it!

yes the outcome was the same but bautistas bike siezed causing the accident in 250gp, checa was over exuberant and cost max his first ever win plus an injury, i think his 5th place should have been taken away from him.

Careless Chucka went in too hot for a pass that was never on the cards, robbed Neukirchner of his first win and in the process broke his collarbone apparently...

It was on a par with Biaggi's kamikazee move on Haga at Vallelunga (i think) last season.) After the clean passes he made before it was a stupid move.

max leaves the door open, checa goes through, they touch when checa s already ahead .... im not sure if the touched when max closed his line or when checa s bike slides, but i think it was fair. shame for max cos he was out to get his first win but that doesnt change the fact that it was a close pass and an incident.

noiw batta needs to get a grip and give max n the 08 bike.

great win for lascorz on aprovate cbr in wss. that kid is pure talent. him and craig jones are whooping the ten kates so far

max was following the racing line, he didn't leave the door open. checa took him out, pure and simple. you must've been watching the same screens the eurosport commentators were viewing.

david blunkett could see it was a sh1te pass.

defensive lines, ever heard of them? max left room for a bike and they both went down with checa already in front. checa slides and his bike hits max s - racing

Checa had already lost the front before he skittled Max. Very sorry to hear that Max is injured - get well soon Max!

Max took the inner racing line but he left the door just a little bit open and hotheaded Checa actually went for it. Max had to make even room for him because Checa was unable to hold the racing line. In the process Checa's front wheel tucked and as a result his rear wheel slipped away and took out the frontwheel from Max.

Max should have protected the entry better but Checa should really have known better.

Either you take the spot and keep the racing line or you move off line a little, but his move was impossible, screwing it up for him, and worse, for Max.

Checa was too greedy and should have settled for 2nd. He's is a grown up racer and he surely feels bad about it.That's Racing

I think you shoul respect all riders even if you dont like them or if the made a mistake. Carlos apologize after race 2 and said it was his mistake.

Richard, rossi leaned on sete, there s a difference - checa went in a bit too hot, lost the front and down he goes, max has nowhere to go and gets the rougher end of the deal
rossi instead clearly leaned on sete and pushed him off the line .

an ilegal move by rossi, but still, yes sete did leave the door open, as there was room for rossi to move up on the inside.
u wouldnt see james toseland leaving any room on the final turn of the race.
