KTM WSBK entry in 2010?

KTM WSBK entry in 2010?

The new 1190cc V-twin powered machine qualified an impressive tenth on the grid in the hands of its 21-year-old rider Rene Mahr, but failed to reach the chequered flag after the Austrian crashed out on lap 3.

Frustrating that we will have to wait another 2 years to see it race
in WSBK but I guess KTM know how far along the line they are and how
much they still need to do! ;)
Would be nice to see SuperStock racing on Eurosport instead of the
repeat showing of WSBK race 1 though! Why do they do that?

eah, guess they'll wait 2 years of RC8 and will change the model line to next suited for WSBK. Only BMW and probably Aprilia will take their chance in 2009...guess that even MV Agusta won't start in WSBK:( maybe after 2011;P and forget about Bimota...

Two years? I will believe it when I see it and this is no sour grapes. KTM do have inordinately long development phases for all of their new road bike modlels and this has been no exception.

Management are particularly indecisive in all their dealings where this is concerned, racing and production side and I fully expect that if the dollar exchange rate does not recover over time, then you will not see a WSBK team.

A phrase used t least once for someone in F1 is apt for KTM management;

"...My indecision is final"

Step 1

Go to www.utorrent.com and download the latest free version of their bitorrent client;

Step 2

Download and install VLC Media Player and DivX Player from;

www.divx.com and www.videolan.org

Step 3

Go to www.racing-underground.com

Trust me when I say that you will find everything you ever dreamed of here.

Choose what you want, races are normally up about four hours after they have been run. Download the torrent you want with utorrent and watch at your leisure

Happy viewing!

Ah, just checked and while there is a torrent for the sstk, they only broadcast the last 9 laps, something to do with the GP2 being on first. It was Eurosport2 it had been recorded from...

Ahhhhh! Thanks to Chu Chu I watched both the Superstock races from Valencia last
night from the comfort of my PC in glorious (really good quality) video!
What a pity Greg Black got pitched off his bike when he was leading! Even moreso
when you see what a fireball it turned into...

That one looked very expensive to repair!

Yeh? But you could also save it to DVD and then watch the 1962 French GP (Rd.4) at Rouen or the 1967 CanAn (Rd.1) at Road Atlanta. I watched the 1982 Spanish GP last night, viva Villenuve!

It would have been nice to see KTM enter WSB next year instead of 2010. It would be great to see other manufacturers enter WSB such as Triumph (if they can build a competitive 1000 similar to their 675 Triple), and MV Augusta (currently running in the Italian series). I wonder how well Aprilia and BMW will do next year. Hopefully they won't embarrass themselves.

Didn't KTM have Red Bull sponsorship on the superstock bike when they announced they were going racing at the Milan show last year? what happened to it?

It seems that their Superstock entry went from a factory effort to a single rider running his own team
