'Blank' Haga smokes to knife-edge victory.

'Blank' Haga smokes to knife-edge victory.

The fender problem - which occurred sporadically during the second half of the second race - was caused by the Yamaha Italia team shortening the wheelbase of Haga's R1.

I can't remember enjoying a race as much as that one for a long time, sensational last corner action!! WSBK just gets better and better, Haga words fail me me one of the most exciting riders ever, the word legend gets bandied around a lot I know but he really does deserve the title

Was expecting the Supersport race to be more exciting (like the previous circuit).

Boy, was I wrong!

Haga, Max, Kiyo and many others made this a thriller-race to remember!!!

I loved that!It was much like what we had in 250GP during the "Terrible Trio" days!
Biaggi,Capirossi, and Doriano Ramboni! As "Max" stated when asked about a similar move.
"This is the roadracing, not the classical music!"G.

I'm glad I've got this one on video. Haga's performance was world class.

Sorry that Bayliss's bike gave way, but on the other hand he's had enough luck as is. This balances out a little the "bad luck" that struck Neunkirchner, Biaggi, Haga and Xaus and opens the championship a little more.

Did anyone hear what the smoke on Haga's bike was? engine or rubber? it's not very clear.

Was an excellent race.

@Harryx, it says in the article what the issue was. The fender rubbing the tyre as they shortened the wheel base for race 2.

Haga brakes like Satan himself! Respect to Neunkirchner and Kiyo also for making it the best race I've seen this year. I always find Monza an entertaining track in WSB.

Great racing, the two races must be the best I have see for a couple of years. Yamaha maybe telling Porkies about Hagas fender problem, the pics of the bike after the race cleary shows the fender was only secured on one side and flapping about, not just rubbing on the tyre as they claim

Tommo... that is very true. every shot that showed the left side of hagas bike you could see it flapping around.

Harryx - Haga's mechanics shortened the wheelbase on his bike for the second race which resulted in the rear tyre rubbing on the the carbon hugger/guard causing all the smoke.

i think haga relies more on the front than the rear so the most affected out of haga, max, and kiyo with that problem would have been kiyo.
only a true veteran could have managed that. both tyres had to have been wearing horribly but i suppose in the end they evened out and the race ended up awesome.
WELL DONE NEUKIRCHNER ON 1ST WIN. I HAVE HIM DOWN FOR 2ND IN WSB CHAMPIONSHIP.
what does everyone else think?

Must agree they were some of the best races I've seen in awhile. But it's too bad that Bayliss and Biaggi went out on the second race. I believe they would have made it even more interesting.
