Tough one.The big names have been discussed already. It is not a secret that the team always want an italian in the team, so if Fabrizio stays then Byrne will be a strong bet. If Biaggi goes in then i cant see Byrne in there too. Canepa amazing rider but is he ready for the step up? Dunno.
Vermulen, no. Edwards.no
Personally i think its Biaggi.the stroppy emperor
Working with the XEROX Ducati team at Brands this weekend and cant wait. So will see you there !
Brands is always an amazing atmosphere.
Pity Byrne isnt racing and showing off what he can do to the team.Cal Crutch.doubtful.

For a giggle put Guy Martin on the 1098.And see what he could do.lol

Max Neukirkner is signed to ride the Alstare Suzuki next year.
Colin is staying in GP with Yamaha.

Broc Parkes. Are you joking?

Broc Parkes can certainly race well, fast and aggressive. He may be a bit abrasive for the Ducati boys though!! He'd be a choice .. as would Andrew Pitt. Pitt is already a WSS champion, leading this years field as well, MotoGP and WSBK experience, knows the tracks, can certainly win the close races. He has ridden a bunch of dogs in MotoGP (Kawasaki ans Ilmor), got shafted by Yamaha in WSBK (for Corser), but is showing his talent right now: and is Aussie. The Ducati / Aussie formula would still be there!! Pitt for my Ducati Dream Team.

Spies? They couldn't afford him! The only way Spies gives up his cushy and highly paid job now is for MotoGP - not WSBK.

James Ellison knows the circuits as does Hodgson. Also Sylvain Guintoli should get a test on the bike as a ducati rider without a Job for 09 probably

I think it,s betweeb Biaggi and Byrne. I'd say Biaggi is most likely as he knows the tracks and the wsbk 1098, but id much much rather see Byrne on it. All depends what Biaggi trys to demand.

As an American, I'd like to see Spies or even Nicky Hayden get the seat, if he doesn't get the MotoGP ride. I'm confident either would put in a good performance.

I hoped Byrne would wildcard in the British rounds because I want to see how good he really is against the world sbk field.

He is a very good rider, there's no question about that but in BSB he is up against young riders that are just learning to be front runners and the old British circuits suit the v-twin

Why would you like to see Hayden? He's still got years left in MotoGP. He's just 2 years removed from being Champion. It would be a MAJOR step down for him. If you're a fan of Nicky the only Ducati ride you want him to get is in MotoGP - not WSBK.

Raw, you'll note I said IF he doesn't get the Ducati MotoGP ride. I'd rather see him winning in WSBK than riding an uncompetitive GP bike. I know I'm a minority here but I consider WSBK as good as series(sometimes better) than MotoGP.

I think Alex Barros is a great rider, and i think he could beat every body in this list..
Last year, if a private bike he was faster than some official bikes,, and when he beat stoner, the ducati boss stop the development of the bike, to don't have the chance for something like that happens again..
He is a great rider and he deserves a chance to race with a factory bike to win the championship,, he could do this and if ducati do this they will be very happy because he will win the championship..

Hey, I am Rocagras, and write from Spain. Sorry for my english.
I agree with roadrage, and in Spain happens the same. People seems that only watch MotoGP, but the WSBK races, the last years are better.
I like to see names of the spanish riders in this comments. Sete, Greg Lavilla (who in Spain is absolutly unknown ¡incredible! ¿no?
Well, i would like watch in WSBK the Aussie superbike champion Jamie Stauffer. In Ducati or in another team, but i think that Biaggi is the favourite, though at the Ducati manager Tardozzi he dosen't like.

The rider who will replace Troy should be one that knows all the tracks of SBK.
To get Chris is very strange and there is a big risk to confuse his with the new bike - new championsip and not get the results.

Why don't Ducati try to replace Troy with another Troy? Corser will do the job for them, and it will be a great challenge for him after two years without a win with the Yammis.

Niccolo is a great option and he knows the game bettter than all the rest, like Lanzi ans Smrtz.

Get a shot o Sofuoglu as well that he knows the tracks and he is facing problems with Ten Kate SBK. Maybe the big twin will help him more in the big category?
