BSB trio secure Donington wild-cards.

Bennetts British Superbike riders Leon Haslam, Cal Crutchlow and James Ellison have revealed they will take up a wild-card entry to compete in September's World Superbike Championship round at Donington Park.

This is a great opportunity for Haslam to step it up. He has finished third and second the last couple of years in BSB and all I read is how people think he is garbage. Even though he has been around for ever (125, 250, and 500 GP), I think Haslam is only 24. He is young and still has a chance to make it back to the World level so he needs good results here. It's just too bad he thought Air Waves was gonna quit racing and left there too early - he could be on the all conquering Ducati 1098R.

Aren't the engine rules different though in BSB vs WSBK - these guys will get hammers, as the WSBK engine will make more power.

BSB have even just annouced they are going back to full WSBK Engine regs next year as is the AMA - will allow for alot more level playing fields should wildcards enter from these domestic series.

FINALLY!!!

Someone who doesn't rip into Haslam at every opportunity!
Raw Dawg sir, you are one of a kind!

Completely agree with your comments. I think his best is yet to come

WSBK wildcard could be the perfect start to a perfect second half of the season!

Good luck to all of them. James Ellison should already be in WSB

Haslam is good enough to win in WSB. He's won before and can do so again... All you need is the combination, everything has to be right.

Look at Ellison this year, his combination is coming together and if it continues to do so, he'll be winning at BSB, on the right bike.

I hope he does and the cards fall right for him to move to WSB with Airwaves Ducati next year.
