Ruben Xaus has branded the rule that you must return to the pit-lane following a red flag in five minutes ‘deeply wrong' after seeing a podium finish snatched away from him at Donington Park.
Only a mindless idiot could think up such a rule. A precedent was set at Brands when Craig Jones failed to make it back to the pits with his machine. Therefore the organisers are guilty of discrimination. Yesterdays Donny WSB races were nothing short of farcical and all because of senseless rules. We will not be back, even if it is a sunny day.

Emma, like them or not, rules are rules. It was tight to have your place "pinched" off you but he has to blame his crew because they didn't read the rule book and inform him. He is also to blame because a "stupid" rule like that should be noted by all because of any possible impact at the end of a race. Good day for Max to be given third. I'm sure Max would've prefered Haga to have infringed the rules as taking a third place from him would have made the day better rather than watching him have a Dnf race 1 and pull an imitation of Max from 500's in 1998 with the two fingers to the black flag!

Whether the rule is right or wrong is irrelevant . It is there and others had to accept it without carrying on. There are a lot of silly rules in racing but even club racers are expected to know them whether they like them or not. There is no excuse for a pro. I feel more sympathy for Haslam who was taken out by stupidity.

If they counted Xaus as crashed I believe that was the same lap that Tom Sykes was close enough to be leading again... why was he not given the win?! if you are going to take it back a lap, everybody goes back a lap crashed or not! pants rule.
Similar to the "back in pits with bike within 5 mins to restart"... the rider can get back in 5 mins but he is 100% dependent on the recovery van to get his bike back and in a situation like at coppice there were 3 bikes to get out the gravel, into the truck and back to the pits. Not happening in 5 mins!
What mindless tit thought of this new ruling, is it just for the TV so programming can run smoothly, or is somebody really getting under the table with the organisers. Surely they realise that motorsport is dangerous and acidents do and will keep happening, I feel sorry for xaus this guy gives it %100 every race as do most of the racers at any meeting, and along comes some snot nosed, shirt and tie wearing, anal retentive, with **** for brains and makes a rule like this, obviously never put his/her life on the line for anything.

The rules in MotoGP are different. I think it's time the FIM standardised the rules including the flags. This particular rule was dreamt up two years ago.
The application of the rules is not consistent - it looks like amateur hour and some of the decisions are simply wrong and just plucked out of thin air. At least the rules are not quite as daft as in F1 which is now a laughing stock again for awarding a 25 second drive through penalty after a race has finished (if served during the race that would have been about 55 seconds).
The drive through penalty awarded to Haga was also idiotic because it related to the previous race and should have been a fine.

If this rule ever seemed like a good idea then this meeting showed that it wasn't.
No reason for Xaus to be insulting Biaggi in the way he did ('romano di m...', 'italiano mafioso'...) He should be insulting FIM if he has the courage to? Biaggi can't be blamed for a stupid rule. Very unprofessional - did you see Hamilton behave in the same way in F1 this week end?
Spot on Paul 46, we noiticed the same thing. 2 laps before the red flag sykes was 4 ish seconds down. 1 lap before he was only 2 seconds down meaning leading when they went over the line, we could all see that. Then the red flag goes out, classification was taken from the lap before mening he should have won.
I think Valantine missed an oppurtunity to appeal. We couldn't believe the result

The question still is: Who exactly is running the WSB series or on who's behalf is it being run? The two WSB rounds were without doubt the best dislay ofBritish farce ever. The late Brian Rix would have been proud of it.

i dont think anyone knows the exact rules in any of the races! even the ones who made them! tom should have won even before the red flag rule as mr bayliss overtook on waved yellows

Too many rules and not enough racing! Ditch the aggregate time bllocks and just have a straight forward re start or use the safety car.
