I don't quite get this.

Against both Xaus & Checa it says 'Crash' - no time - yet they're still in the top 15.

I'm guessing they had the time which corresponds to the position before the Crash.
OK. But if that's so why bother to say 'Crash' instead?
Or does it mean something more like: The time they had was good enough to place them here but they've had such a severe crash they're not expected to actually start?

Hedge - I watched superpole so can confirm that they both crashed from front end tucks, but at different corners. When superpole was first introduced a crasher was placed 16th and a crasher who had a faster practice time was placed 15th. The riders said this was too great a penalty because you might go from 1st to 16th so about 5 years ago the rules were changed to a crasher in superpole qualifying at the back of the row prior to the one they would have qualified on if their pre-superpole time counted e.g. you go from 2nd to 8th or 5th to 12th or 11th to 16th.
