Leon Haslam could be on his way to the World Superbike Championship in 2009, according to the only full-time British rider on this year's grid, Chris Walker.
Blimey! Looks like I'd better dust off the z650 and my leathers. I could have a shot at the BSB title myself

A certain Mr.Rutter for the 2009 BSB crown on a factory Ducati possibly ? Maybe Bayliss should make the move in the opposite direction and join the BSB paddock !!

Acctuley do crash.net mean wsb or wss, cuz i aint seen a stiggy bike in wsb before?
Posted by The Darkside - Unregistered (60 days ago)
It was mentioned on swedish Eurosport, maybe by Stiggy himself, that he is planning to have a bike or two in WSB.

If Stiggy dont put some *** together and get Brooksey on a Superbike then they are mad! Brooksey is a legend Superbike rider, far better than Supersport. If they can put him on a decent bike, he will win races!

I hope this isn't true for Leon's sake. He has already had an uncompetitive ride in WSBK (Renegade Ducati) and now he wants another? He shouldn't have left Airwaves Ducati when he did, he would probably be sitting at the top of the championship now if not, and he shouldn't be leaving HM Plant Honda now, just to be warming the back of the grid in WSBK. Stay in BSB, win that then move on for a better ride. He is no James Toseland or even Neil Hodgson, and he is still relatively young (look at Bayliss, Corser, Biaggi, Haga - all at the top of their game, all well into their 30s) so there is no rush.

He only left Ducati when GSE disbanded at the end of 07?

"shouldn't have left Airwaves Ducati when he did, he would probably be sitting at the top of the championship now if not," Don't ya think Shakey might have had something to say about this....... the HM Plant Honda was the winning bike in 07, Shakey put the Airwaves Ducati back on top this season..... why didn't Leon achive this in 07, or on the "top" bike in 08??

Chaz - probably something to do with the fact that the Honda was ALL NEW for '08!

Yawn, aye , the Honda isn't competitive this season, no wins in WSB, no Wins in BSB ??? Oh hang on a minute, surely not !! Also, your thoughts on the Honda being ALL NEW this season, like the 1098 then ? Leon doesn't have it, a good racer, not a champion though.
Honda won both races in WSBK at Miller Motorsports with Careless Chucker and 3 races with Kiyonari at Brands Hatch and Donington. Leon Haslam has won 4 times in recent races in BSB.
My only problem with all these riders moving about is that andrew pitt want get a ride in wsb's, that would be a crime if that dont happen.

why do so many people spout this same crap!!
Leon was robbed of the chance of the 2006 title by Shakey crashing at Brands....
And I assume you have run all the BSB bikes back to back to decide which is the "best" ???

The funny thing is all the great riders in BSB(cept shakey, who incidently can't buy a win)are all behind Haslam in the championship and it took him half a season to get used to new bike that arrive late and new tyres(one of the reasons last years honda won, apart from the fact the duc was on it's last legs). Makes you wonder where the 'facts' that prove the guys behin him are better... baffles me... anyone explain it??? Personally I think if he'd have been on the duc, Shakey would have had his 4rse felt...
Leon needs a top bike in WSB for himself, and the competition, only seeing the ten kate hondas at the front is getting a bit samey..
